Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”

This update on his health comes as the sports world shared condolences for the star in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
